Privacy policy and collection notice
The short version: we collect what we need to design your concept or quote your job, we don’t sell it, and you can ask us to see, fix or delete it at any time.

Who we are
Mavilo is a creative studio for 3D visualisation and rendering, run by Daniel Barnes in Adelaide, South Australia. MAVILO is a registered business name, ABN 17 685 711 018. Contact: daniel@mavilostudio.com.
What we collect
- Your brief: your answers to our questions, such as the kind of project, the town or suburb (never the street address unless you choose to send it), rooms, priorities, budget range and timing.
- Contact details: your name, email and, if you add them, your phone number and company.
- Files you send: plans, sketches, photos and links you share with us.
- Technical details: with each brief we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, your browser type (user agent) and the country it was sent from, to stop spam.
- Payments: if you pay online, the payment is handled by our payment provider. We see that you paid, never your full card number.
Please leave out medical details and information about other people that we don’t need. If you tell us about access needs, we use that only with your consent, to design for it.
What we use it for
- To assess your request and, if you go ahead, prepare your concept, images or quote.
- To reply to you, send your price and take payment.
- To keep records we’re required to keep, such as invoices.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for marketing unless you separately agree.
Who handles it for us
We use these services to run the studio. They process information on our behalf, and some are based overseas, so your information may be stored or processed outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union.
| Service | What it does for us |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare (website host) | Hosts this website, protects it from abuse, and stores the briefs you send us in its database. Like any web host, it processes your IP address and basic request details. With your brief we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, to stop spam, plus your browser type (user agent) and the country it was sent from. |
| Brevo (email alerts) | Sends us a short alert with your name, email and brief summary when you send a brief. |
| Zoho Mail (email provider) | Carries our emails, including any brief you email us and our replies. |
| Payment provider | Takes card payments securely, when online payment is switched on. |
| Design, file storage and project tools | Store your files and help prepare designs, including AI tools. They process information for us only. |
We don’t share your information with anyone else, such as a designer you’d like an introduction to, without your permission.
Analytics and cookies
This site doesn’t use analytics or advertising cookies, and it loads nothing from other sites. The brief saves your answers in your browser’s storage on your device so you can come back to them. If you arrive through a link or an ad, your browser also notes where you came from (for example a campaign name, or the website that linked to us) and the page you landed on. That note is kept for 14 days, goes with your brief so we know how you found us, and isn’t shared with anyone else. If we ever add analytics, we’ll update this page first.
If you use “Transcribe your ideas” on the brief, your browser turns your voice into text using its own speech service (for example Google in Chrome or Apple in Safari), under that company’s privacy terms. We never receive the recording, only the words in the box.
Our free guides download directly. Downloading one asks for nothing: no form, no email address and no tracking. Like any page, the download passes through our website host.
How long we keep it
If no project goes ahead, we delete your brief and files within 12 months. Ask any time and we’ll delete them sooner. If you become a client, we keep project records and invoices for as long as the law requires.
When you add your email to the brief, we save your name, email and answers so far, so we can follow up. Until then, your answers stay only in your browser, for 14 days. A copy of anything you send from the brief is also kept in your browser for 14 days, in case sending fails. “Clear my answers from this device” on the brief page removes your answers, that copy and the note of where you came from. To delete what we hold, email us.
Keeping it safe
We use reputable providers, keep access to your files limited to the people working on your project, and never ask for passwords or full card numbers. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we’ll tell you and the regulator as the law requires.
Your rights
Email us to ask what we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it. We’ll reply within 30 days.
If you’re not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au). If you’re in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). If you’re outside Australia, you may also have rights under your local law.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
